Lynn Attebery

I grew up in New Orleans and attended Auburn University, majoring in Mass Communications. I have lived and worked in Custer County since 1976. My family previously owned and operated the Pines Guest Ranch. For the past 25 years I have managed the Cross D Bar Ranches. My wife Sandra and I will soon celebrate our 25th. wedding anniversary.

 During my 36 years of residence in Custer County, I have devoted considerable time and energy to serving the community wherever I saw a need. I have a record of consistent involvement, showing up at meetings, working hard on problems, and listening to the people, rather than imposing my opinion on every subject. Through this volunteer service and my experience as a rancher and business person, I have gained substantial insight into the concerns and needs of every segment of our citizenry, including retirees, working families, and the agricultural community.

 For the past 36 years, I have participated in the committees and groups having the most impact on this county, 3 years as a County Commissioner, including 16 years of service on the Planning and Zoning Commission. I believe that my long history of service to the people of Custer County and the knowledge and experience I have gained along the way make me qualified to continue to serve as your County Commissioner from District 2.

 As a County Commissioner over the past 3 years I have showed the people of Custer County that I have no agenda of my own. I view the office of County Commissioner as a public service job, where the agenda is set by the people. Circumstances, good planning principles, and citizen input dictate how I perform the job. At the end of my tenure, I would like to hear from the people that Lynn listened, Lynn kept us informed, and Lynn acted in our best interests.
